"It's merely a stepping stone to something bigger. Since working here almost two years, I have yet to see a single contractor get hired full time. Most workers are contractors here. I doesn't matter what your qualifications are or how experience or knowledgeable you are, you will not get hired. I had a co worker with a CCNA and a Master's Degree in Networking and was not hired. Reason behind this: AT&T Higher Ups don't want to spend money. I don't know of two employees that are happy or content."
"I worked there for 2 years and it did not allow workers to be promoted based on job performance. It was based on popularity. It also was working with very young experienced sales force. Was not a good fit for me however I do believe that I could have found a better job that fit my experience better. I would recommend this company however not the retail locations. Their commission structure was not easy to understand and was always changing."
"I have worked for the company for some time now and continue to do so unless something significantly more comes along."
What do you like about working at AT&T?
"The relaxed dress code is nice. The pay is nice, too, but not nice enough for what we have to deal with."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"DON'T DO IT! This is a job that will make you hate life. Go somewhere else if you can!"
What don't you like about working at AT&T?
"Actions speak louder than words, and although AT&T claims to care about the customer, they really don't. This is made clear by the fact that they don't provide working tools, open call flow, or more human-friendly scripts to abide by on the phone. Quality is a joke, measurements are constantly changing, and figuring out what you've done wrong this time is always a guessing game."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop making the people taking the calls sound like robots following a script. I would also provide working and functional tools to the employees so that they may actually help the customer (like the company SAYS that it does, but actually doesn't)."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"I would not suggest you take the prem tech title as there is no room for growth once you take the job."
What don't you like about working at AT&T?
"The job is great but the pressure of the numbers game on timing our work in customer service is not truly geared towards meeting the customers expectations. Also The arguments between the union and the company affect employees' quality of life and to this day I have not seen any good come of it."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Premise Techs deserve more rather than taking bargaining away from the existing contract. AT&T needs to make Uverse Prem techs a part of the core labor force rather than some appendix on the side. After all uverse is AT&T's primary bread winner yet the lowest paid technicians and to top that off AT&T feels Prem Techs deserve less at the bargaining table."
