"AT&T has been a wonderful company to work for throughout the last 12 years. My position has provided me the benefits of learning many new technologies and put them to good use in a corporate environment. I am where I am at today - knowledge and experience wise - due to AT&T, my office and my boss. I owe them nothing but 100% gratitude!"

"If you need a job and want to have no life, go for it!"

What do you like about working at AT&T?

"When we were Cingular, life was good! When we bought AT&T Wireless, it just got worse. There was nothing to like. Too many layers of management! No ownership. Advancement right."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you know someone in the company, you will have better luck getting a job with this place... However, this does not hold true of sales. Sales turnover is so high that they will hire anyone. Don't be yourself! Think like a manager who micromanages. If you are trying for a manager job, they could care less whether you know anything or are a people person! They want a person with a whip! I spent 13 years at AT&T, and now that I'm gone, I'll never go back!"

What don't you like about working at AT&T?

"Drive your people into the ground. Fear those that care. These policies aren't the SBC way or the Cingular way! Customers came first with Cingular! Our network performed! The merger killed the company! The name is a name and that is what they bought - a name! How many mangers does it take to manage 3 people?"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get out of your boxes! The Blue boxes! Empower your people, not weaken them. Encourage talent! Care about your customers! Care about your employees! Go back to Pacific Bell's way of doing business! Get off of your own, self-given throne!"
