"Working with AT&T overall was a very positive experience for me. I learned how to work within a team, my strengths as well as weaknesses. My co-workers helped to make the workplace more enjoyable aside from the many pressures of working in a call center environment. Best part of the job was being able to assist customers with their technical issues and insuring the service they're paying for is working. Like any call center there's always the ups and the downs."

"I was in the FirstNet division, a network dedicated to first responders, which was quite interesting. Overall the company is making a big bet on media and may be a distraction from the core mission - wireless. As a result, I give the CEO low marks."

"I moved to Seattle to help ATT building the VoLTE network, work consisted of hardware addition including MME, eNBs and routers. Worked design, engineering, working with the ATT Ops department and vendors to configure the equipment after installation to bring the network to a working status. Also, led a team of engineers to write an End to End test plan examining the network's behavior under faulty conditions."

"I've worked for AT&T for over four years. In general, you will find that what you get out of AT&T depends highly on the particular group you work for. I have been lucky enough to have been able to play a leadership role in some very high profiles and interesting projects but YMMV. It can be a little stifling."

"AT&T has great opportunities to make fantastic products and provide superior services, but fails on most accounts due to bad management, organizational disarray and general good-'ol-boy politics. This is not the place to work if you are looking for accomplishments, resume' building experience, or forward momentum. That being said, this is a great place to work if you want stability, good pay, benefits, etc. AT&T is just too big to get out of it's own way and create great products."

"Growing pains and extremely disorganized processes with the worst developer documentation and the management thereof ever experienced. No standards, style guide, usage. AT&T must be trying to implement cost controls, leaving management in despotic turf wars and dereliction of duty to the external customer. Mismanagement makes content quality secondary to CYA reporting. Cannot blame CEO--or can you? Greatest degree of passive/aggressive I've ever witnessed."

"Too bureaucratic. Too much specialization. Each employee was given an extremely small task and expected to repeat that task daily. Middle management was unable to effect change to improve employee morale. Upper management sought shareholder value at the expense of basic office amenities (i.e. coffee, first aid kits, a comfortable working environment). Company structure was done with most decisions being made by lateral agreement in middle management with no apparent executive oversight."

What do you like about working at AT&T?

"I loved the opportunity to impact literally millions of customers' daily lives, and the security of working for a Fortune 10 company."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The company is full of smart and talented people who are underutilized. You have opportunities to work on important projects, but all the bureaucracy makes everything move slowly. Innovation and entrepreneurial thinking get a lot of lip service, but in the end, the company is extremely resistant to change or new ways of thinking."

What don't you like about working at AT&T?

"Communication is terrible. We never know what other departments are doing, even when it directly impacts our business."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would empower employees. The traditional top-down hierarchy prevents innovation."
