"If you would like a job where the outcome of your work is not controlled by you, but you're disciplined for it. They treat you like children and there is no trust. Micromanaged to the point where you're afraid to do anything. Large corporation mentality. It flows downhill here. I would not recommend this job to anyone."

"I've worked for AT&T since the 1980's. It has gone through many changes and is still going through them. They are offering a 'lump sum' payout to eligible employees and I am considering taking it if I can find comparable employment elsewhere."

"The pay, the health insurance, the pension. The actual work I do."

"Stay away. Go somewhere else the money isn't worth it. I'm stuck can't go anywhere but as soon as some of my bills are paid I'm outta here."

What don't you like about working at AT&T?

"The management style, being managed by intimidation on everything, being sent out of town on 1 day notice for 6 weeks, having your manager tell you you idle your vehicle too long, get out of the shop in 15 min, get your job done in 1.5 hrs or get written up, don't speed put your cones out turn your wheels to the curb put your parking brake on; your day off this week is Wednesday and Sunday, oh wait we are sending someone out of town now you have to work Sunday. I could go on and on - this place sucks."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Come work my job under your rules for a month - you would quit."

"They aren't interviewing much right now - just laying people off."

What don't you like about working at AT&T?

"Being forced to retire due to the T-Mobile situation."

"Don't make deals with T-Mobile unless you've considered the impact that the decisions could have."

"I'm left to do what I want if I get my job done."

"Career growth is slow, but it's a nice, steady job to have."

"The company is left with a lot of inefficiency and waste from all of the mergers with different companies."

"Cut management salaries and reduce the layers between the CEO and I."

What do you like about working at AT&T?

"I worked at AT&T four times, twice in the same type of position (including the latest). I like troubleshooting, appeasing customers that are upset, learning more systems and networks and/or products, as well as proving I can outdo most anyone else with productivity."

"A big company that could care less. Enough said."

What don't you like about working at AT&T?

"Not perm work, and a contractor tended to end up doing more work than the perm employees. While our input was appreciated, it carried no weight."

"Based on my past similar experiences in such environments, I would have looked to streamline and update the processes and procedures regarding the ticket trouble handling, however, many organizations were involved at higher levels."
