"Interview your manager VERY thoroughly. I didn't and found out later how bad he was."

"My manager. He was over the top critical of everyone's work."

"Don't micromanage. Use some people skills. Try to create a pleasant work environment."

"Contracting is generally dehumanizing, but at least with IBM, a hard worker has a good chance of remaining on contract long after original term expires."

"IBM still has the mindset that those who work insane hours are better, more dedicated employees when in fact, this only makes them less efficient. I would like to see them aggressively move away from this mindset."

"I like the team atmosphere, continuing education program, cutting edge technology, and Maximo clients. (I love my customers.)"

"IBM is a team oriented company. Success in large part, will be one's ability to work in this environment. IBMers hunt better in packs."

"To be honest, it is sometimes difficult to get services contracts through our approval process."

"Reduce the number of internal approvals needed for services contracts."

"The time to form teams was longer than in most companies due to its scale."

"Implement integrated communications technologies between video equipped laptops and mobile devices to shorten the time for face to face communications to occur. Cut travel expense."

"Too many processes that people follow blindly, Rewards are given to people who are the loudest and most vocal, not necessarily to the hard workers that get on and do."
