"The company began constricting the job opportunities. Transfers were not allowed & projects began to get cancelled."

"Allow for more job movement & growth. Look at the long picture before cancelling projects."

"Run away."

What don't you like about working at IBM?

"I worked there for 11 years and was unhappy most of the time. The management in VT knows there are no other places to go in the area and treat you poorly. There is an overlying extremely negative attitude throughout the entire plant which can get to you after a while. Opportunity for advancement is nil unless you're in the good ole boys club. Jobs that are posted are not really open, just a formality as the person has already been picked and if it's a management position, the ex-managers who were pushed aside during layoffs and given useless staff positions are slid back into management. This stifles all growth within the plant. If I sound negative about IBM, I am. It's the worst place I have worked."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Purge the management and the old ideals. Start treating people as people instead of a commodity."

"Mostly hard-working and friendly people."

"Just be yourself. At the end of the day, it won't matter how much you know your stuff, just how well you work with others."

"Lack of salary growth, career growth opportunities."

"Give more autonomy to employees. Stand up and grab the business by the horns. Be more transparent."

"I didn't like working the night shift."

"Rotate people on night shift and if they want to go to days make it happen."
