"It helps to honestly demonstrate such things as (a) what you can do *for* the company, and (b) personal qualities such as long-term view and work ethic."

What don't you like about working at IBM?

"Sheer amount of fretting about things which you often cannot influence, but must document and track ad nauseum; a vast and dynamic set of rules to govern everything from business conduct to receiving pre-pre-pre-approval to purchase something; extensive efforts spent to squeeze every last cent of cost out and discourage spending - well beyond the point of diminishing returns."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"find ways to incite staff to achieve results without *some* of the pressure and cope with the multi-transitional environment."

"As with any interview, be honest and confident in your abilities. Never be afraid to ask for the position."

What don't you like about working at IBM?

"As with all large organizations, there were times when internal policies and procedures could impact my ability, as a Principal Consultant, to quickly gain approvals and resources."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"From Director level down, management was extremely open and flexible. Senior management, at times, needed to look out, instead of focusing on internal issues and projects."

"It is a large company with many long term employees. It was great to have the opportunity to learn and share ideas with some people who have been in the industry since the beginning. It also gave me a global perspective."

"Personality matters a lot during the interview process. They get a lot of qualified candidates, so they need to pick the best on they think will fit into the team. Be yourself, if you are not then you will be miserable if hired."

What don't you like about working at IBM?

"Sometimes things are too large and you get lost in the shuffle. No matter how hard you work or what contribution you made."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Continue to focus on mentoring and career stability. Let employees know they are more than an FTE."
