"I've worked for IBM for 10 years in the GBS area. I find that the company focuses more on the billing and less on the product. The executives like to tout the forward thinking attitude of the company and that it strives to give the employees every opportunity to do what they want with their career but for the most part they are speaking of internal employees, external (GBS) employees are encouraged to put in more hours."

What do you like about working at IBM?

"Was given the opportunity to learn new and old products that were available to our customers. And peers that were a great team."

"The customers' needs will always need to remain a top priority."

What don't you like about working at IBM?

"There was nothing negative about working for IBM as an accounts receivable administrator."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The first line managers were responsible for many employees in many locations. Additional managers in each location would have improved personnel management."

"There was a time when you had the opportunity to learn new technologies, etc.,and would be rewarded for your efforts."

"I would NOT recommend IBM as a company to work for in the US - except for the benefits."

"All of the work seems to be off-shored."

"Apply one of Thomas Watson's principles: Respect for the individual."

"Billable hours targets continually increasing, jobs being offshored under the name workforce rebalancing, subjective nature of the PBC appraisal process."

"Set reasonable hours targets, stop offshoring jobs, scrap the PBC process as it is not quantifiable to employees."
