"IBM Bay Area labs is a nice place to work. But the work isn't very challenging."
"I've worked for IBM since 1998 as an employee now a contractor. I've found it to be a strong company with good ethical values and an emphasis on customer relationship and retention. The company employs around 400K people internationally with locations around the globe."
"IBM is a good company to work."
"Good work environment, excellent growth opportunities, nice co-workers, quality work, better compensation compared to other companies, motivating managers."
"I have been working here since a year and a half and I just love my work and feel passionate about it. And to mention, my supervisor is the primary reason for this motivation."
"I've found it to be a strong company with great products and customers."
"IBM is an adequate place to work--nothing very good to say, nothing very bad. Management seems to think its resources are fungible--replaceable at a whim, which makes working for IBM a trying experience."
"The IBM branch I worked with is going down the toilet."
"IBM is not the company I hired into 20 years ago. The internal politics, business integrity and general attitude towards staff has all gone south in the Services unit. Things may be different in other divisions, but corporate pressure to make the financials on the backs of the poorly led and paid rank and file is the norm in services. If you get into IBM, use it to learn everything you can from product to method and then find a real paying job where people are truly respected."
"I am working as a software engineer here since 2013. It is a cool place to work and suits developers best as it is a lab and hence, less formal. Nice location to work too."
"The team for VOIP is excellent; really some of the best guys in the industry. The downsides are nearly 100% traveling time, and IBM can be a bureaucracy, so getting administrative stuff done is not fun. There are also frequent resource actions, however, I find they do try and keep their top talent.Overall I enjoyed my time at IBM."
"SoftLayer is a great company to work for. IBM now owns it so it will become their Cloud Computing Division."
"Needs a strategy shift and should have more of employee moral building."
"The job was good while it lasted. I was managing Big Blue at Nissan and they were a good vendor while I ran it. I still have contacts there and this experience has opened my career up to new areas of employment."
"It's great company to work for. They respect you as a person."
