"I have worked for IBM on three separate occasions. There is no single IBM experience. IBM is a massive company, with contracts and offices around the world, and the experience you have as a person working one of those contracts will be largely determined by the vendor. Generally, I have found working for them a good experience, but the potential for the vendor to change directions is a definite potential negative."
"IBM is a great company, however, they are cruel in lay offs. I had one of the best experiences working as an IBMer."
"IBM India is not good company."
"I worked for IBM for 30 years. Throughout that time I was able to showcase my capabilities and create significant job movement up the management chain. Although, throughout that time the initial respect for individual that was defined when I started, diminished through the years. As with the benefits and retirement package."
"It was very good working environment, policy and procedures are already defined for each task."
"Company going down hill. High pressure with low pay. Executives make tons of money yet employees are told we didn't meet our expected number. No raises, no bonuses, have to contribute more each year towards medical. Not the IBM of years ago."
"Organization and process are very good."
"I have worked for IBM India for more than 2 years in the role of Unix Admin for Walt Disney as client."
"IBM is a great company, versatile environment, good work life balance, creative work, best team members."
"In the 12 years I was at IBM, the company changed drastically. It started with little things (no more free lunches, etc) and eventually ended with major changes (401K), which mostly affected us blue collar workers. The morale after the summer 2013 layoffs was infectious and I honestly hated going to work. I combated this by just working from home, but in the end I just saw too many people who didn't care anymore. A lot of people had and still are. I'm waiting for my severance package."
"Overall good company to work for."
"I worked over 25 years with IBM and built a great career with them. They supported and encouraged me to continue college. The working environment was very good and the people I engaged with had great attitudes. Overall it is a good place to work."
"I have worked at IBM for the past 7 years and I found it very good."
"I have worked with IBM for over 14 years and have seen the company go through many transitions. There is a lot of hype around being willing to try new things and make career changes, however, opportunities are scarce, as most hiring managers tend to place labels on people based on past experience. I have found it very difficult to move up and around the company."
