"The pay and benefits were pretty good. Also, flextime was helpful."

"Make sure you want a job with 60 hour weeks, ambiguous directions, no recognition, and no potential for growth."

"Management is out for themselves. If I offerred a solution to a complex problem, it was always found wanting. My manager berated employees in daily meetings, and used profanity in casual conversation. His demeanor was one of intimidation and inexperience."

"Acknowledge and reward employees. There is no employee recognition at WF."

"I like the benefits, income, overtime, flexible hours and shifts, and more than enough work available."

"I dislike extremely fast paces, being somewhat unorganized, very high turnover, and constant change of rules and guidelines."

"They need to learn to treat people more like people, and not like numbers, as this would take care of the retention issue."

"I disliked working in the business direct department, which had no growth potential in the next 5-10 years."

"The company is managed well, compared to other financial institutions."

"They went out of their way to please their employees. Employees were motivated and made it a fun work environment."

"You must have great customer service skill and want to help customers. It is a sales-based company. Make sure you let the manager know you will do whatever is in the customers' best interests."

"The opportunties within my degree field were limited. No database positions were located near family."

"Continue to motivate and please the employees. Keep a strong culture, and stay true to the founders' goals."

"Talk to other people who have been working for the company first. You have to start as a teller, and it will take at least a year before moving out of that position."

"I disliked the lack of room for growth, and not being paid for the work that I was putting in."

"Make more management positions available for the associates who deserve them."

"I loved the name recognition. Whether people love it or hate it, they knew who WF was and it made finding opportunities somewhat easier."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would encourage people to bone up on their skill set, and make sure they have very thick skin to be able to handle the sales pressure that is involved. I think a lot of people are blindsided by this upon hire."

What don't you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"My only complaint within the organization was sometimes it felt too big. It was frustrating not being able to help customers from beginning to end in some situations, due to the different divisions that would need to be involved."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Upper management should spend more time in the branches they support. Due to the large volume of business and the sheer number of branches, it felt as though they lost touch with certain demographics."
