"There was a lot of technology to learn. If given the opportunity a person could gain many skills before being laid off."

"The company is constantly reorganizing. Many times the reorganization made things more difficult for current employees."

"The management turnover ratio in network services is to high. Management needs to listen to engineers and technicians when analyzing incoming programs and upgrades, especially when the tech say that a program is not compatible or that the costs to make it compatible are too high."

"After the merger with Nextel selling became very transactional (widget based). The value added, strategic type sale started to become diminished."

"To target folks that have 10+ years in the telecom industry who remember what CRM really is. You have to hire people who have the C.A.R.E. mindset because (Customers Are Really Everything)."

"Dynamic environment that offers a chance to work on highly complex systems. Many of the projects were cutting edge when they were started. Hesse is a really bright point in the organization. His enthusiasm is infectious... even for those in KC."

"Sprint is not the only game in town. Look around and actually speak with employees in your prospective field."
What don't you like about working at Sprint?
"Too many levels of red tape. Funding and project planning takes FOREVER, often this causes the product or service to be really slow to market. Inter group fighting hobbles progress. Sprint has an attitude towards their employees in KC. Since it's the only game in town for telecom in KC, they have a lot of leeway to treat employees as if they are expendable. This leads to poor morale, and poor customer service, be they internal customers or actual paying customers."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Replace the board, streamline operations, remove fiefdoms and encourage teamwork. Streamline project approval and budget management processes, empower the line managers to make budget and labor decisions."

"Compensation (opportunity for overtime), opportunity to advance to lead."
