What do you like about working at UPS?

"I like the challenging work, and the ability to help customers get the quality transportation they are seeking. I like the mutual respect amongst all employees across the globe."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be prepared to have work piled on you once you prove that you are able to do it. The old-timers don't get any additional work, yet make the sweet rate. By the way, speaking of rate, my pay is so low, it wasn't even on the pull-down on the previous page. I ended up having to select 30,000-40,000/year when in essence my annual salary before taxes is $28,574.00. Barely enough to keep my head above water. I've had to take a 2nd job to cover expenses since weekly hours have been reduced to 35/week since January of 2011. That means I'm down $400.00 per month."

What don't you like about working at UPS?

"They cross-trained me after being called back from layoff. Now I am expected to know and execute, without mistakes, imports, exports, dispatch and data entry. They also make me work 2nd shift which starts at 5 p.m. until whenever the data entry is completed to cover whenever a 2nd shifter is out or on vacation. Management is always saying that family comes first, but when I tell them that I am a single parent of a 14-year-old teenage boy and need to be home at night to keep tabs on what my impressionable child is doing, they told me that if I didn't like working 2nd shift that maybe I should go work somewhere else. Family first, yeah, right. They say one thing and do another."

"I had great co-workers and customers I enjoyed. The job had challenges that I was able to take on"

"That there no opportunity for advancement and the economy was a challenge"

"customer service is priority to any successful organization, always put the customer first"

"I like the professional work culture, very supportive management, flexible working options, and the practical and realistic work."

"Be professional, sincere, hardworking, and disciplined in your etiquettes. You should be strong in technologies."

What don't you like about working at UPS?

"The pay scale is not so high. The rest all holds good with this company."

"No suggestions, as they are the best. A raise in payscale will be encouraging."

"I like the benefits. Medical is free, with full coverage, along with other benefits of discounts at numerous places."

"Just be prepared to work fast and hard in sometimes uncomfortable environments."

What don't you like about working at UPS?

"I don't like dealing with the dirt and air at the airport where I am located. Also, I don't like constantly being told to do most of the stuff that's directed toward a group of us, while the others don't do anything. I love working and doing numerous tasks to keep busy, but when I feel like I am being singled out to do a lot of the stuff, it becomes uncomfortable and not enjoyable when it comes to the job."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Have higher and lower management not disrespect their employees and then expect everything in return. Give good incentive/feedback, as well as rewards for being a hard worker."

"Be honest, and also, interview the interviewer to find out for yourself if you will be a match."

"There was nothing in specific that I didn't like. As with every company, you will have positive and negative experiences with management."

"Management should be more aware of their policies as pertaining to ALL employees."

"Don't apply for the job, as it's not worth the pain."

"It is a horrible job and doesn't pay well. They break union rules, treat you like crap, and don't communicate well."

"Be nicer to workers, and reward workers for good efforts. Don't be too hard on the workers."

"The store is too small, and the day-to-day is always the same."

"My supervisor had no idea how to do the job that I was doing and passed me over for a position for someone with less experience and less knowledge of all the systems we had to use."

"If I were the CEO, I would have an open door policy and actually listen to what the hard working employees have to say."

"Look long and hard before accepting any offer. Otherwise, it never hurts to interview with anyone."

"Stop changing ASM every 6 months."

"They treat full-time employees on the front line like garbage. They find the negative only in what you do."

"I would suggest better hours and work/life balance. Get rid of the managing by intimidation."

"Be authoritative and make sure the people you supervise understand their job tasks and fulfill them and try to exceed them. Never allow the people you supervise to do less than they are capable of, because you are not allowing them to reach their full potential."

"I dislike not being able to use my interest in sales as much as I could if I were in a different position."
