"I've worked at United Parcel Service for about three years now, I believe that the management team has helped me grow both personally and professionally. The team culture they support is perfect for anyone looking to grow and expand. Anytime I have a problem I able to solve it with the help of those around me. Overall it's an excellent company to move and expand your career. They also help pay for school so that's always a bonus."
"UPS is a fine company to work for. There are plenty of opportunities to move up in the company if you work hard. There are plenty of very friendly people to meet in the company. It is a great place to start a career and build for a lifetime."

"I think it a great company but definitely a different experience."
"Cultural issue involving the treatment of employees."
"Tough environment to manage people who do not make much money to stay motivated and help the company make multi-millions a week, while they take home several hundred a month roughly. Union presence doesn't help either."
"Its an OK job, but not for everyone. They allow the wrong things to happen when convenient for them. The expectations on a daily basis are not reasonably obtainable nor are they worth the compensation."
"Fortune 500 Company with excellent benefits and programs for advancement."

What don't you like about working at UPS?
"The union's set-up for UPS really limited the amount of interaction I could have with my employees. If I needed to train employees further with a hands-on approach, a union representative would often step in and accuse me of stealing work from the hourly employees. This left me with an under-trained employee or a grievance filed with the union against me."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Every hour on the day we had to tell our employees what they were doing wrong in what was called a 4 to 1. This is where we told the employee one thing they were doing right, and 4 things they could improve on. Often senior employees had heard these criticisms so often that they would dread talking to management because they were told so often that they needed to improve. Even if they were excellent workers we still needed to pick out things they could improve on. The employees were forced to sign a document of the aforementioned conversation. Over time this concept really created more tension between management and hourly employees."
