"I would pay the employees a competitive wage similar to other retail stores such as Nordstrom or Sears."

"As they grow, their size becomes an issue and decisions are being made too slow to respond to the market changes."

"Break down the company into smaller units to encourage faster response to the market, especially in the e-commerce area."

"Be yourself don't be what you think we want, and make most of all be honest with us!"

"The only negative I can really say relates to the whole industry, not just Best Buy. I hate the fact that every year holidays become less and less sacred for retail employees."

"Simplify the working experience for the employee and just allow them to do their job."

"Lots of interaction between employees, very social, and technology stuff is always fun to be around."

"It's all about sales, even the non sales positions. They like role playing in interviews, so be prepared to sell the interviewing manager something, and be ready to try a few times after he rejects your sales, they want all their employees to try multiple times even after a customer has said no."

What don't you like about working at Best Buy?

"The expectation to sell a totally worthless service/warranty, as well as financing, then turn around and explain to customers that have previously purchased such services/warranty of how useless it is and that they are out of luck or need to give us more money. Having equipment thrown at me and my team by customers, being threatened, constantly being yelled at. Being constantly understaffed. Almost all employees being nearly incompetent, especially the sales employees."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"If your only way to make money is financing, services, and warranties (which it is, the only physical thing they make money on is accessories), then make those warranties useful for more than 10% of the customers, and make the SERVICES better, which means you'll have to hire people that actually know something instead of having a computer salesman that doesn't know if a CPU is quad core or not, or having computer techs who know virtually nothing about how computers work and only about selling services/warranties."

"A job is just a way to make a living either full time or part time. To own a business is a way to make your fortune."

"The constant changing of procedures that continued to come down from corporate staff who never step foot inside of the building."

"Try to apply common sense before implementing a procedure or talk to ground crew for advice."
