"Best company to work with."
"Best Buy is a great company to work for. There are a lot of opportunities to learn and grow and the culture is fun."
"I worked for this company for a couple of years and was very disappointed by their policies, specially when I wanted to move up in my career I stepped into a brick wall with the ongoing silent age discrimination they have within this company. I complained and never heard back from their HR dept."
"I worked for BBY for 14 years. World class company. Challenging environment, results driven company that rewards performance. A big company that does try to stay small in the way leadership relates to employees. I have tremendous respect for the company, founder Richard Schultz, and present senior leadership."
"I had a good experience working at Best Buy."
"If you enjoy diversity and interacting with many different people this is the place for you! They use bleeding edge technology where they can, and are using cutting edge technology on many new and upcoming projects. Last but not least, I would be remiss if I did not mention: Beware of the usual corporate antics. If you're new to this kind of environment, study up on it so you can make the best of it."
"Overall I am satisfied with Best Buy and would not be sad if I stayed there for the next 20 years. That being said when I am writing software and fixing issues within the code I enjoy the work. The problem with Best Buy is a lot of that work is outsourced so I am not seeing as much of it as I would like. Instead I am being tasked with designing and implementing outbound transportation strategy."
"Not a favorable review on my part. Mismanagement, apathy, and they call the event production the churn, and it really is. Not a fan, chose to not re-up my contract with no other work on the horizon."
"Great working environment - lack of innovation."

What don't you like about working at Best Buy?
"Lack of innovation has forced the company into it's current debacle."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Management has become afraid to innovate and look at new business models."
"Chaotic."
What do you like about working at Best Buy?
"Fast pace environment with lots of project activity. Funding is less of an issue than making a clear case for your project."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be young. The company values energetic, innovative, creative approaches. Most of the functions are project and function coordination. Much of the creative and software development work is done by contractors."
What don't you like about working at Best Buy?
"Functional overlap and undetermined decision rights. Even at the VP level it is frequently unclear about which person or organization has the authority to run or approve a project or function."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Clarify function, authority and responsibility. Vertical responsibilities are vague, horizontal scope of responsibility is undefined."
What do you like about working at Best Buy?
"The Best Buy work life balance is a huge plus! The concept of Results Only Work Environment (ROWE) is awesome but, in practice it creates a culture of managers that dial down their performance to only earn a passing grade. Relationships are really important and many employees have been mainstays since BBY was a regional player. Low accountability and expectations are frustrating. Consumer electronics is an exciting industry with fast product life cycles and awesome opportunity to identify unmet needs and develop customer solutions. Retail is fun but a flailing(or failing) ;) business model, makes work difficult and downright demoralizing."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Find out if your business has the resources necessary to actually deliver on the goals and objectives. Also double check on the managers' people management credentials."
What don't you like about working at Best Buy?
"Corporate ladder is a mess! Relationships and tenure dictate progress in many areas of the company while other areas are uncharacteristically competitive and difficult to make advancement. People managers run the gamut from really awful to pretty good. The strategic vision is led by old guard big box retail and lacks insight, focus, or the capability to deliver."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Bring in new leadership team to reduce the legacy issues. Be bold! Revamp the business model! Stop the work that isn't aligned with the forward strategy."
