"Been working for Wells Fargo for approximately eleven months and I have nothing to complain about. It is a good place to work and there is much room for growth. They are very flexible with their hours when it comes to school. Not only are they flexible, they provide you with a lot of benefits even as a part time employee."

What do you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"I liked the technical challenges and the people. Some are still friends and keep in touch on Facebook."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Plan on needing to find work anywhere else during the six months you need to be absent. You have no guarantee of rehire, but they do rehire and many stay LinkedIn. If you have the chance to work for a place that welcomes you permanently, take a long-term job over a cheatums job as I call contracting."

What don't you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"I disliked the way they treat contractors as disposable. Their policies and business practices have earned them the distinction of an entire Occupy Wells Fargo movement."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They need to stop automatically letting contractors go at 18 months. Keeping 80% workforce guaranteed unemployed at the end of contract, but keeping their mortgages inflated and seizing homes is what is trashing the entire economy."

What do you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"If it wasn't for Wells Fargo, I would have never gotten my start in my career--and for that I am forever grateful. In addition, if you can get on as an FTE, the benefits are decent."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be confident during your interview, and you are almost always guaranteed to land a job."

What don't you like about working at Wells Fargo?

"Although I am unable to speak for the company as a whole, the department I worked for was micromanaged to a fault. It was nearly impossible to ever feel comfortable under those pretenses. To make matters even worse, everyone is always at risk of losing their positions if they are not FTEs, and there is always that underlying fear. As for growth, there is absolutely no room for it, as the company is top-heavy. After I worked there for over 10 years, the thought hadn't even cross management's minds to move me into a higher position because there was simply nowhere to go. Saying the environment is hostile may be a bit of an overstatement, but there is such an excess of managerial layers at the bank that everyone is trying to climb the corporate ladder and stepping on everyone else waiting on a rung while they do it. Unless you are super aggressive and have zero compassion for your fellow workers, you will be at a stalemate at the bank. Worse, regardless of the number of years you may work for the bank, they have zero qualms about finding a way to get you out if they feel you have exhausted your time there. I have watched Wells slowly move people out of their positions and into early retirement or unemployment lines because managers didn't like the employee or they felt the people had outlasted their tenure. It was extremely disconcerting to watch! Last, if you are seeking to contribute in an innovative manner or make changes, this is NOT the company for you. Wells Fargo has aged processes in place, but it is only because they work, and it would take far too much effort for change. In all these years they are still using outdated tools and methods, and any suggestion to do otherwise will bring a grimace to everyone's face. If you are willing to sit at a technological stand-still then you will do fine."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The managers really need to lighten up and allow employees to just do their jobs instead of micro-managing every little thing they do. Wells really needs to adopt the term flexibility and realize their employees will be far more dedicated to them when working out of comfort as opposed to fear. Also, they really need to consider cutting back on the levels of management--it just muddies the waters."
