"As with any large company it has ups and downs, SHC is a great place if you want to expand you portfolio, and once one of the greatest retailers in the world."

"The pay is higher than what other companies would offer for similar work, but the office culture tends to be disorganized and slightly Kafka-esque."

"I am cashier, your expected to do a lot. Some manager take preferences and make you take care of the line or they tell you to do something while other cashier are not doing anything."

"I've worked with Sears for more then ten months now. Previously I worked there from September 2008 to December 2009. I like the company's culture. I enjoy working with customers but I feel the need to move on to a job that interest me more. The job I been doing is more likely the same on every call."

Technician

"I worked at Sears Auto during 2013-2014. This job was possibly the most dangerous, stressful, underpaid job I have ever had. Let's start out with shop equipment. The equipment was old, and was always breaking, and I found a lot of times the equipment actually damaged cars. Now this was also a stressful job because MANAGEMENT was as smart as dirt. Not only were they dumb, but also lazy. They just stood there watching us work."

"Been with SHC three years. Great people all working smart and hard under dodgy leadership. There are great brands, nothing but potential but being squandered and misdirected, i.e., shop your way."

Sales Associate

"I have worked for sears for almost a year now and I see multiple flaws in the way they perceive how work should be accomplished. There are far, far to many metrics for sales associate's to meet (pa's, credit apps) even if a customer does not want one of these, you will end up getting in trouble for not selling it. Sears also does not believe in giving their own employees raises. I suppose it must be for the simple fact that we do not get the chance to enjoy the luxuries of working in the corporate building. On top of that most of the workers there are expected to do highly to much for the small pay that they do receive. A MCA that makes minimum wage is expected to do a weeks worth of work in one day, this is highly outrageous."
