"Remember, they are salespersons. Think about the downside of what they are, and are not telling you. If you can live with that, it's good."

"Since, Farmers IT belongs to Zurich Financial now, I would say apply to Zurich Financial in Schaumberg, Illinois."
What don't you like about working at Farmers?
"Zurich Financial invested a lot of capital in Farmers and replaced Farmers IT infrastructure with Zurich support from the VP down. I'm no business expert and don't understand the reasons behind it, I just know it was unfortunate for those of us in IT who liked working for Farmers."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"My managers were great as well. I worked for two of them due to a restructure."

"Of course be prepared to show you're assertive and be yourself."

"At the time of separation the products were dated and the rates were not competitive."

"Take the competition seriously, take what works and apply it in a better way."

"It is commission and insurance agent for infomercial business and setting appointments with customers."

"I understand old employees not communicating with new employees, so need communication skills."

"No enough training and no supplies and not enough information."

"Increase training and working with new employee, more time and more training."

"Rate increases. It breaks your heart to call customers and let them know what to expect on their renewal."

"I love my company work culture and people. All colleagues are very friendly."

"It's interesting and challenging work and for the most part I get to work with smart people. The company pays well."

"I am a woman and I have been worn down by the fact that it is still very much a good ole boys club. I am educated and hard working. I think I have a dynamic personality with good ideas. It's hard to get anywhere above a certain pay grade as a woman in the property organization."
What don't you like about working at Farmers?
"Everything you do is scrutinized, instead of thinking how great I did I wonder if I screwed something up."

"I would get more in touch with the ground level people. I have had even manager level employees tell me they feel out of touch about what customer service associates and claims adjusters do. I'm lucky that my boss is great. A lot of mid level supervisors and managers at Farmers are not qualified. However, there are the Norms and Values that everyone is supposed to uphold."

"The people that I work with - family like. It's a very friendly environment."

"I would suggest, to be assertive. Farmers likes a very close knit relationship with their employees as well."

"The limited positions that become available. Being I work at the Corp office. You would think there are more."

"Not much to suggest, the Executives do a great job there."

"Working with people, making my own schedule, residual commissions, being the boss."

"Get ready to work hard and be frustrated. Don't take rejection personally."

"Working for a company that is so money driven, no matter how difficult they make it for the agents. Being so greedy that we are losing our best customers because the company does not care. The company is too stubborn to realize if they take care of the people that are making them their fortune, they would make more money."

"I would take care of the people who actually make the money for the company. Be more concerned and flexible when it comes to our long time customers."

"In the end, not much! I used to like the fact that they were a good company and treated their customers with respect but they changed their direction and that was no longer the case."

"Don't do it!!!! They don't care about employees or customers."

"I would go to the agents who deal with the customers and find out what they need to do a better job and grow their business."
