Working at Bank of America in Concord, CA: 41 Employee Reviews

Software Engineer

"All the people there were friendly, nice and helpful."

What do you like about working at Bank of America?

"The people in my team were friendly and helpful."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The people should be honest of what they answer to the company. They should try their best on everything without being nervous. They should try hard to express themselves more, tell the employers as much as possible to let the employers understand what they are capable of."

What don't you like about working at Bank of America?

"It has too many hierarchy levels. Everything (a simple request, like an approval of a database update) has to go through a lot of procedures, departments, managers, etc. Need to work with people throughout the states in BoA and required a lot of time for communications and waited for answers/approval."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Managers should have a deep review of the processes of a project. They shouldn't just look at the percentage of completion provided by the teammates but should go through what have been done and see how far the project has to go. They should analyze the skill set of the teammates and assign work accordingly. If the project is unlikely to be complete by the existing team members, the manager should hire people as soon as possible. The later the manager introduce a new employer, the more work the manager/teammates have to do to make the new employee catch up the work, which ends up giving more work load for the project without actually helping the process. Managers should reward the employees when they do well and try to understand employee's difficulties when they do wrong. Do not just scold the employees and find out their difficulties earlier (i.e. ask them the process of the project in a nice way)."
