"Verizon is a great place to work. Unfortunately they have the same problem as every other publicly traded company. In order to drive up their share price, they have to do more with less. In most cases, improving the profit margin means eliminating positions and letting people go. I have seen a mass amount of very talented people cut from Verizon only to have them pop up at competitors or in a few cases with Verizon customers. However, Verizon can't be blamed for the way Corporate America operates."

That being said I don't regret my 12 year run but I do wish the company helped me relocate with my family rather than watching me walk out the door. But that's more on my regional / local management than the company as a whole. My management was dysfunctional and primed for a reality show full of debauchery."

"I have worked with Verizon Services, or a company acquired by Verizon, for over 26 years. Verizon puts a lot of emphasis on its employees' education and career advancement. I enjoy the people I work with and the benefits are superior. I am disappointed not to be working for them anymore after the end of February. Due to a Financial Transformation ignition where they are combining all the financial operations offices into two location my position is moving to Florida but I am not. I hope to find a position in another organization before my tenure is up but if I don't I will always be grateful for the opportunities they have provided me."
