Home Services Specialist

"OVER work and UNDER pay, this is the job for you!"

What do you like about working at Bank of America?

"The name of the company, my manager, and my team."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Make sure you can do mandatory over time and that you have a high tolerance for stress. Also know that the customer comes first no matter what."

What don't you like about working at Bank of America?

"They are trying to keep their loans in house and are killing the underwriters and processors. Giving unattainable goals. The pipelines are out of control."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Learn how to do the job so when you think that 1 more call is going to make a difference. It is not. They need to streamline the process again. Everyone has a specialty, exploit it. Get a team of underwriters to do tax returns only (1st touch), get a 2nd team of underwriters to review the requested docs that the first underwriter requested (2nd touch), have an appraisal review team, and allow the HSS to review title (home focus was a good idea but now they are delaying the process). If something is wrong with the title refer it to home focus. This will reduce the number of loans that are sitting 3 months in a queue waiting to be touched. No one should have a pipeline as you come in pull the next loan in queue. Because some people are faster than others and the customer should not be penalized because they have a slow processor who has 80 loans in queue."

Senior Mortgage Underwriter

What do you like about working at Bank of America?

"This was a Countrywide site prior to being BOA, it is run very efficiently and the management is actually involved, on the floor staying involved with the staff."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Relax, the managers are friendly and they don't ask questions that do not matter to what you would be doing. Don't toot your own horn too hard, they like team players."

What don't you like about working at Bank of America?

"Overall there is a disconnection within the company. Not a team atmosphere nationwide although that exists at the site I work. Kind of an us against them in the different areas of banking and lending."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Keep up the good work and personal touch. Maybe the only area I had problems with was having to constantly remind them I did not have all the access to many systems and websites I needed to effectively do my job."
