"I worked at Verizon for almost three years. The actual work, when we were left alone as a department to do our job, was easy and we had the resources to do our work efficiently. However, HR can be hostile with regards to taking emergency time off for family matters or illnesses. The union I was in mires employee-company relations in endless bureaucracy and paperwork, so it takes forever to get anything done where the union and company are involved."
