"It depends on your job (AFSC), and even more on the people. If you enlist as a maintainer like I unfortunately did, you're going to be 'shafted' on a regular basis by people who have no idea what they're doing, your peers will be bottom or near bottom of the barrel kind of people, and if you don't like hunting/fishing/football or you aren't from the south, you WILL be singled out and ostracized... good luck! Take what experience that you can while you have the opportunity; it's a fantastic stepping stone if you know the right people, and are lucky enough to be at the right places at the right time. Maintenance sucks, and AMMO sucked even more."
"I have worked for the United States Air Force for 15 years. I am proud to serve and love being an Airman."
"Great place to work. It is time for me to focus on school and complete my degree."
"I take pride in my time with the Air Force. It provides tools, training, and experience for all who join."
"I worked for the United States Air Force."
"I've worked with the USAF since 1999, I enjoyed the travel, education opportunities, the team work and multicultural mindsets. I would like to continue in the USAF but I have reached all that I want to do in it. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to have a different experience for a few years."
"I've served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. It is a great place to start and to learn some good skills. You are entitled to many great benefits while serving. The best thing about being in the Air Force is that you get to travel to many places all around the world, and meet many great people."
"I have been an Air Force member for 20 years. I have worked in several areas at 5 different bases. I have had 2 different career paths. The military isn't for everyone but I personally enjoy the structure of it. The pay could always be better but for the one weekend a month I give it's not bad. I have had several different supervisors and supervised a few people. I have learned that no one answer fits 'em all."
"Was in the USAF since 2007, recently separated. I left the military for a variety of personal and professional reasons but ultimately left to pursue a graduate education full time to compliment my professional experience in the AF."
"Great! Have enjoyed it, ready to go civilian."
"I've worked for the USAF for almost 4 years now and it has been a very humbling experience to say the least. But I am ready for a change."
"It's the military, they will make sure you have the tools to do your job."
"I've been in the US Air Force for 20 years. It is a great place to get a head start and to learn some good skills. You will get to travel and learn about cultures around the world, and you can give your service to people who need it. You may also gain skills in areas in which you never would have thought about, such as operational risk management, etc."
"I've worked with the USAF since 1999, I have learned how to work with multiple types of personalities and shops. I highly recommend to serve for at least a full term (4-6 years). I have traveled to many countries that I would go back if I could."
