"I've worked for the US Air Force for 22+ years. Salary + benefits is substantial, but only because of my experience and rank now. Starting out in the Air Force was a struggle financially; but I've been afforded opportunities for advancement, and have succeeded due to strong support from the Air Force educational benefits and commissioning opportunities."

What do you like about working at United States Air Force?

"the people there were amazing and flexible. It was never my coworkers I disliked, only the atmosphere."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Well, make sure you talk to someone who has actually done the job you're looking at, get EVERYTHING in writing, and make sure they don't hold out on you: there are lots of opportunities in the Air Force, but you can miss them if you don't pursue them actively. Always get confirmation of rumors from a reliable source - mainly, a rule book or someone in charge."

What don't you like about working at United States Air Force?

"We worked at nights only swing shift, with inconsistent mission requirements and hours, and our leadership was so disconnected that they didn't even realize what was going on half or more of the time. Orders that came down from on high only made things more complicated, cut into sleep time, and never had any practical benefits."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would implement some changes suggested by the work force from the lower level employees because they were the ones who had to use it, and cut back on unnecessary spending to fund the practical changes needed."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"All the research in the world doesn't prepare you for the job. Mentally prepare yourself for the unexpected."

What don't you like about working at United States Air Force?

"I don't like the way people are treated and how rumors are spread. I also don't like the fact that people are put in positions they either don't deserve or are not qualified for."

What suggestions do you have for management?
