"I have been in the military 3 years and it has been a great opportunity for me to gain skills and experience. It is a great way of life for single people or people who like to travel. I have been trained and supervised in order to get the job done that was needed and asked of me."

"The Air Force was one of the best times of my life but the high op-tempo and the long deployments drove me to seek other avenues."

"I've worked here since 2009 and have seen a lot happen with furloughs/potential RIFs and a mass exodus of engineers leaving for greener pastures. It can be an awesome place to work (with the right peers) but can also be one of the most frustrating places to work with limited resources and possible insecurity of your job. Benefits can be awesome, but pay will be less than other places. For engineers there's always more work than you can handle, but other jobs it seems less so."

"I worked for USAF for 8 years. Found the training and ability to work on high-end equipment appealing. Moving up is slow, and leadership is not always based on career knowledge."

"309 SMXG is a great place to work. The work is interesting, and my coworkers and immediate supervisors are great. However as with any massive organization, there are top down policies that can hinder and slow down work. It is also disappointing that there is little compensation for hard work. Pay only depends on time with the company."

"I have been employed by the US Air Force for over twenty years as an active duty member and now a drilling reservist. I greatly enjoy many opportunities provided by the military and am confident that anyone with the attitude of self improvement will find the military life very rewarding."

"I worked for the Military since September of 1990. I enjoyed the time spent in the service. I would recommend the military to anyone. Some of the different branches are different the others. The best quality of life is the U.S. Air Force. The U.S. Army is good also."

"I worked for the USAF for over 13 years. Like everything it has its pros and cons. Now that I am out I can really see how much a military member makes. My six figure income is giving me the same lifestyle that I had back when I was an E5, If you do not have medical issues like I did and enjoy staying in shape this is definitely a great career move. Especially if you take advantage of the education systems in place."

"6 year enlistee with the USAF. I have gained a ton of experience since I first entered active duty. I plan on continuing to make myself more rounded in the Information Technology career field. I've worked in offices that support users first hand in a help desk setting to building and maintaining windows 03-08 servers. Currently I'm a systems administrator supporting over 200 users in a single building. We maintain 90 workstations and over 60 servers in a shop with military members and civilians."
