What do you like about working at JPMorgan?
"I worked with a set of skilled and culturally diverse professionals from all over the planet, in a dynamic, fast paced, challenging and state-of-the-art (technological) environment. I learned a great deal in terms of communicating effectively from a business perspective (using all the tools at my disposal to do so), coping with a myriad of competing problems, priorities and projects, as well as the value of planning, team work and achieving the set objectives. The result was a win-win situation for the employees, the bank and our customers."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Not really. WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get, most of the time. The organization is very much driven by results. Perform well and you will thrive. Coast and you are toast. But people mostly play ball, and I was surrounded by some excellent professionals at all levels."
What don't you like about working at JPMorgan?
"As a consultant, I disliked that there was no visibility, little recognition, and few options to become an employee and grow within the organization. Sometimes, there was a fly by the seat-of-your-pants type attitude and perhaps too many things going on at once for people to really focus. There were times I wondered how people managed."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Management should consider all resources at their disposal, whether full-time or part-time, regardless of location in terms of the value added to the business prior to terminating people. There should be more stringent standards in terms of documentations. Yes, it costs, and is time-consuming and things change, but it has to be factored into things especially when there is a lot of turnover. No offense. Just my two cents."
