"This division has succeeded to provide work for the last 29 years. We transitioned from AT&T, to Lucent Tech. and then to GD. What we did was good engineering and performed on time, on budget and met all customer requirements."
"I've worked for GDIT and GDC4S for a combined total of almost six years. The large organization allows for competitive employee benefits and discounts. They have been flexible with my military reserve training requirements and treated me fairly as an employee."
"Decent corporation, save two issues: no actual sick leave, just general leave days to use for vacations, haircuts, kids' concerts, medical appointments, or when genuinely sick. Also, even in the case of long-term employees, no relocation expenses paid on most moves. This does not help retain valuable employees."
"There is a job stability, as it is out of the way, and there are minimal layoffs. Pay is weak, Management is out to change the culture, how, who knows, but has indicated in public meetings, if you do not like it, you can find another job. Children are being set up to run the company, poor decisions are being made. Nepotism. Experience counts little. All about operational improvements, place is dirty as they cut out the cleaning budget. It's all about getting the CEO a bonus."
"General Dynamics had bought out the company Vangent, in order to acquire the contract to provide customer service for www.HealthCare.gov. My job while at GDIT was customer service representative for healthcare.gov, and was primarily responsible for assisting customers fill out applications for health insurance. It was an easy enough job; but, as you my have heard, healthcare.gov and the application are still in need of massive improvements - which could make completing the application difficult."
"Better communication between upper management and executives would boost the company's reputation."
"I have worked at GTE GS / GD C4 Systems for almost 19 years and the first 16 or 17 years have been rewarding, fun and got things done! The last couple of years have seen difficulty in making the number and deficits in revenue have been fixed by laying off engineers (mainly), sales () and others. No attempt was made to change the core business or go looking for opportunities that GDC4S has not historically considered 'interesting' - consequently more lay offs. Personally, I cannot see a future."
"Good company, however I left due to chance of working in the medical field. I had to give it a try."
"This place has too many people who don't know what's going on. Not one supervisor says the same as the other. No order in the workplace. Good pay but just total disorganization."
"I worked for General Dynamics IT for over seven years. I have been laid off only because GDIT had lost the contract. However, I did like the people I worked with and for and the work environment was great. The company treated me well and provided me the opportunity to advance and improve my skills. I don't know what else to say about GDIT that would help explain how I feel about GDIT. They were an excellent company to work for and If the chance comes again I will work for them again."
"I've worked for this company since December of 2013 and have had growth opportunities. It's a wonderful position and many opportunities will swing by you. Take advantage and apply if possible. Although the position may be a contract position it allows you to continue the contract with the new company that takes over. That's its advantages that comes with the company."
"I worked for GD for 7 years, but there were defense cuts and layoffs, Although I did not get laid off, the work environment suffered and I left. I regard the management of the company to be extremely poor."
"A good place to work. Friendly and professional."
"When I worked for GD I had a boss that I had worked with for 4 other companies. I was very lucky that we could work for so long together. I had an exceptional work environment."
