"I did not like to work on military attack vehicles."

"None; they did a great job. My immediate manager, Greg Bagwell was excellent."

"The work is fun if you like engineering, but the business surrounding it has made some poor decisions that has forced them to squeeze more out of engineers than they should."

"Find out what the company is really like. They believe all engineers are created equal, which is not true. They will probably pick you up if you are qualified, but really evaluate the fit as somewhere you really want to work instead of just someone that will hire you."

What don't you like about working at General Dynamics?

"They commit to too much and squeeze the engineers to make up for it."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would put more emphasis on good estimation so that we don't commit to contracts and schedules that are unreasonable."

"Long project cycles that lasted many years if not decades resulted in less diversity in experience."

"I would suggest they research ways to increase work responsibilities and leverage the education they pay for in order to reduce attrition. I also would suggest they find out how to diversify the skill set of the staff that they have."

"Communicate and try to be flexible, make yourself useful right away. Seek out challenges and opportunities because they will not be handed to you."

"I feel like there is very little communications and the culture can be a negative one."

"Stop the unpaid overtime requirement on some projects. Treat employees like more than company assets. Move into more modern and flexible work schedules."

"There really isn't much room for creativity, they discourage it. They have a system that has worked for a hundred years and they don't want to change."
