"Ask about benefits and your classification. They have classified some of the new hires within the last 18 months differently. They do not provide the same PTO or tuition reimbursement as listed on the website and other documents."

What don't you like about working at General Dynamics?

"Client does not work very well with us concerning testing. No real opportunities there."

"Work with client management concerning lack of support. Their success depends on it."

"Stay away from Itronix and C4S Division in general. Going through many changes and is lost in its direction and long-term goals."

"Leadership was very poor and lacked vision. Also felt not trustworthy and honest."

"They need to get new leaders who understand the market today and invest in products and services that will compete in today's commercial market space."

"Working for an Indian manager that did not understand interpersonal communications or the American culture."

"Lack of support received from the site management and the failure to provide the information required to make a decision."

"The commute to work had some bad traffic conditions, and relocation for a contract was not practical."

"My manager was very professional, helpful, and focused on being able to deliver the product to the customer."

"The short version is, they paid well, far better than my previous job."

"Always ask if the contract is up for review or bid. If it is, make sure it is not part of a soon to be retired software that you are being hired to support."

"Never physically met my boss in Virginia, it would have been nice."

"Make sure the HR people are aware of the status of any contract they are hiring for. Don't hire for contracts that haven't been renewed."

"I love the product. Working on nuclear submarines every day is awesome!"

"Work hard and be humble. That's the EB way. You have to put in the time and build your technical skills (as an engineer in my case) before you can move up."

"The tools for the job are inadequate. Old, outdated computers and software, very little advanced technology used (or even considered...)."

"I would encourage (and fund!) innovation at every level of the company. The company moves as our customer and product: slowly and deliberately."

"I love the product. Working on nuclear submarines every day is what gets me up in the morning!"

"Hard work and a humble attitude will get you far at EB. Put in the time, ascribe to the EB way, and you'll do well."

"The low-level employees aren't treated very well. We rarely get our computers and software updated. It's hard to be motivated to work when your tools are out of date and inadequate!"

"I would push my VPs to allow innovation in their organizations. The company moves like its customer and product: hard to get started, hard to stop."

"Nothing to report, this company has been more than excellent."

"Other engineers were great. The building and location was excellent."

"Company puts pride in self-starters and self-motivators. Willing to work overtime for extended periods is a plus for them."

What don't you like about working at General Dynamics?

"Unpaid mandatory overtime without even 40 hours of work a week for six months straight and mandatory Saturdays for work that could be done any day. All with no end in sight."

"Pay more attention to the work individuals are responsible for. Take a few classes in Software Estimation."

"Sometimes the work was a little repetitive and it lost my interest at times. I would need to step away and come back at times to retain my focus."
