"I've worked for ERAC for 2 years now. It is not an easy job and there is high turnover but if you stick it out there is truly opportunity for growth and is a great way to kick start your next career path. The people you work with will be the best part of the job, even on some of the craziest days at the branch it's my coworkers that keep a smile on my face. I've truly learned how to sell, work hard, and face adversity -- for that I am grateful for my experience."

"Worst place to work ever. By the way, they promote drinking and driving."

What do you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"The only thing that I enjoyed was the hands on experience. This is truly the place that will teach you how to get out and get something because you do not want to come back."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not interview with this company in the first place."

What don't you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"Their people are the worst people on earth to work with. They train their managers to be arrogant, uncooperative, micro managers."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Truly implement work life balance. Working 60 hours plus a week and then asking your staff to do the same or more is not fair to anyone. True bigger picture: $52,000 40 hours per week calculates to about $25 per hour, which is decent pay. Enterprise $52,000 per week 60 hour week calculates to be about $16 per hour. Keep in mind you start off on the low end $30,000 and you are hourly and mandatory overtime is already calculated in your pay. In addition, if you stay late your manager will leave and blame you for having to be at the branch so late."

Branch Manager

"Great to cut your teeth on how and how not to manage. Not ideal for long-term."

What do you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"You grow and develop personally as much as professionally. Enterprise in any division will teach you about hard work, accountability, leadership and sales. The pay is terrible at entry levels but improves somewhat at Assistant Manager, quite a bit at Manager and very strongly at Area Manager and above (if you can get there)."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Interviews are largely behavioral. Don't discuss what you would do or how you would handle a situation; instead discuss when that has happened to you in the past and how you approached the situation. Also, focus heavily on tangible successes you achieved."

What don't you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"Long hours typical of any similar management level position. Intro Trainee hours listed at 49 but closer to 52. Assistant listed at 51 but actually 55 and Branch Manager 55 minimum. Attendance at post-work functions demonstrate leadership and are necessary to advance. The numerical performance can be weighted too heavily (how many people can I REALLY convince to come and rent from me after all) or not heavily enough if you have great numbers but your leadership isn't enough."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None that would be successfully implemented. I worked my way up to Branch Manager in both the rent a car, then rent a truck divisions. In every case the culture at this company is paramount. If you fit into that culture (aggressive salesperson, good with people but only so far as they will help your own advancement--just like all businesses, I guess, and willing to work long hours and jeopardize your family life) then you will advance. The culture is so strong in fact, I found it almost cult-like in that you MUST not just work hard and perform, but doing so fitting their profile for what a Manager should look like and act like. I was employed by Enterprise for 11 years and while I would definitely go back and do it again given what I learned, I would make some distinct changes and would definitely NOT do it for as long as I did. 3-5 years is your sweet spot unless you are a super-achiever."

Area Manager

"Having ERAC on your resume does not help at all."

What do you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"Only slightly better than being unemployed. Everything else is basically demoralizing, cheating and intense pressure."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Know what you are getting in to. Very very political. Super high pressure sales of products people don't really need. Many of your peers cheat and lie. There are many backdoor social events where completely and entirely unprofessional things happen regarding business and coworkers. If you don't drink, you will be ostracized."

What don't you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"You do meet very few good people along the way. The company has good founding values, but they don't live up to them no matter what they claim."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"No advice, most of you are a lost cause and I would rather see you stay where you are so when I finally move on, you won't be there. The new area manager at FLL is a total joke! How she got promoted and not fired is a complete mystery and proof this company has their priorities completely messed up."

"Horrible. Don't care for employees. Tolerate immoral things."

What do you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"That you can come directly to your branch manager, area manager, HR people or recruiter when you need them."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be honest with your interviewer about the time commitment you are willing to make. Make sure they know what's important to you in a job."

What don't you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"The hours that I put in Enterprise is not worth the pay. The managers don't care about us and our work conditions. They only do what's beneficial for them. They do not value and respect our lives and overworked us when they can. I've seen ethical problems being overlooked. They tolerate cheating and stealing of sales... and keep whoever make their sales look good. They claim they care about the customers but they squeeze every cent out of them as they can."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"To listen to our inputs and make changes for the better. They keep on doing the same thing and not care about what we have to say. Be more understanding towards us, they've been at our level before."

What do you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"As with any company, your peers make or break you. There there a few rare genuine people."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Get in good the good 'ole boys club right away - promotions are based on politics."

What don't you like about working at Enterprise Rent-A-Car?

"Constantly threatened to perform or be written up. Can receive write-ups every single week. Senior leadership managers by numbers and not personalities. Therefore they will never get the best out of their people. Manage entirely through intimidation and is a thankless job. Where is the praise we hired you to perform well, we expect it! Training is a joke, it is all OJT except for a couple nights in a training center where you really learn nothing except that the trainer is a joke too. I hate that I still work 70 hours a week for 7 years now. If you work less, your offices will likely not be successful or someone will backstab you because you must not be committed."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would have a process in place that makes sure that the employee feedback surveys are honest and that in the feedback (by region) we can actually see the good/bad/ugly and participate in the plans to correct them. ALL WITHOUT INTIMIDATION! The current process is bogus because even though they say it is anonymous, your direct superiors threaten you every day."
