"I've worked for Verizon Wireless since 2009. I found it to be a challenging, fast paced job with rapid advancement opportunities. I feel that certain areas lack integrity but generally there are excellent training programs that they allow their employees to take. The company has 100,000+ employees."

What do you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"The pay is pretty good for recent college graduates compared to other jobs."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't misspell anything on your resume or screw up the interview. The people interviewing you have not been trained how to perform interviews, and it's going to be your one and only shot. Also, it helps to know someone there."

What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"The type of people who are promoted as managers are rarely intelligent enough to be effective. Instead, they have figured out the right people to suck up to and the right metrics to look at. Free thinking is rarely rewarded, and decision-making is basically nonexistent in such a corporate environment."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Verizon Wireless is trying to force employees out of their retail locations to save money."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't even bother if you are not Indian, as you will be discriminated against on an ongoing basis."

What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"It's not so good. I don't think I've said anything positive so far. The place is an utter disaster."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Eliminate corporate racism, especially in hiring and promotions. Spend money on office furniture and equipment. Ensure work-life balance. Pay overtime to people who are legally entitled to it but are today coerced to not reporting the hours they work. Ensure people have the tools they need to do the job. Eliminate the silos that dominate the company."

"A great place to work. It was very professional, but also very cutthroat."

What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"There was too much competition within. I was fighting over territory impingement from the inside telephone sales teams, retail stores, and internet sales. I was often stymied by better offers from those teams as well."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The focus should be put on quality of each call and not just how many business cards you obtain by the end of each day. Try not to micromanage so much."

What do you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"I like the new technology, decent compensation, team atmosphere, and the entry level positions available."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are looking for a job that constantly challenges you every day with something new, go for it. Be prepared for crazy levels of stress mostly from being micromanaged (all dependent on your manager). Burnout rate is extremely high for this position, so take you vacations and personal days when given to you, and do not let them build up. If you take a position with Verizon Wireless that is commission-based, make sure you plan ahead, as some months are great and others you will be scraping for numbers, as expected commission is estimated based on what was done last year and on new products launching."

What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"Management within Verizon Wireless has a trickle-down effect. Every manager at Verizon Wireless is looking to get promoted to the next level, so they take whatever they hear from the next level up and exaggerate the goals to make them look better, and for the most part they succeed. The problem is, once it gets to the store level which is front-facing to our customers, the goals set forth are almost impossible."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Make one policy and stick with it for each different sector of the company. There are too many different systems and policies for customer service retail and tech support."

What do you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"The company had a very nice benefits package and tried to keep morale up through the use of teams."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"People applying for the position need to remain flexible in their schedules"

What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"Verizon measured every aspect of every call and essentially micromanaged individual call management."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I have no suggestions for Verizon's management. Micromanagement was built into the entire system."
