"There is always new technology, and learning is a full-time job. I like to learn about new services and the technology that goes with it. It was never boring to work there."

"I would tell a person interviewing to be very open-minded, and be ready for change, because it comes out of the blue. Do what you are told, because there is a good reason for it. This company doesn't do anything halfway."

What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"My feelings are still hurt that I was dismissed and not offered another job within the company, knowing that I have 18 years experience to give."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The management I was in contact with were some of the best people I have ever worked with. They listened and did their best to meet everyone's needs. I know upper management is looking at the big picture and what they have to do to keep Verizon Wireless number one. I would suggest helping displaced employees find other jobs within the company instead of letting them go."

"When the department went from Verizon Wireless to Verizon Data Service, the management stopped listening to the employees."

"Look beyond the bottom line. Not all accomplishments can be seen in dollars."

"I dislike the lack of growth within the company due to an intense amount of bureaucracy."

"Bringing in a younger workforce is great. However, lack of leadership in instruction is inadequate."

"I enjoyed the independence and responsibility for drafting and finalizing leases in preparation of the opening of wireless stores in several states. I liked reviewing leases in place and giving my opinion on content, and tracking the terms of the leases, ensuring payments were made timely to lessors."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Work with the CEO directly. He is a great guy with a true vision for this company. Unfortunately, his managers were not reliable or responsible to keep this office open."

What don't you like about working at Verizon Wireless?

"The managers were not focused on building revenue. Instead, they were like children spending the CEOs money to move to bigger offices and spending too much time on decorating it. Then they had to find outside investors to make up the shortfall."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Having a nice work environment is important, but you have to maintain the revenue to support growth. Employees need to feel like they are part of the team and can affect results - not just there for a paycheck or to carry out orders without being able to contribute opinions and ideas that may be helpful."

"It was a good starter to sales, got my feet wet."

"Nothing. It was a good job, a job for college students."

"No real future in it, no real money to be made."

"Nothing. They are clear about expectations and what will and won't happen."

"I like the ability to work at home and control my schedule. Management was great at letting you get your job done without micromanaging."

"Just realize that telecom is up-and-down and you will get laid off at some point."

"I dislike the support beyond 3rd-level management; it was pretty much non-existent."

"I have nothing for direct management. For upper level executives: learn from the past. If you send work overseas and then bring it back because they couldn't do it, then why would you try another groups' work"

"It was a great job with good pay. I enjoyed all the people I worked with."

"It is a great company to work for. You get out of it what you put in."

"The quota constantly changed for no reason and made it difficult to make real money."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop raising the quota. It's nice to have uncapped commission, but if you raise the quota you are really capping us."

"Micromanaging is the name of Verizon, and they cannot keep people in the same place long."

"From a customer service representative role, we have to constantly fix other employees' mistakes and take the blame."

"It appeared that promotion within the company was not readily made to internal employees."

"Management seemed to be very supportive."
