"I've worked for the US Air Force for 4 years as an aircraft mechanic. Unfortunately it's a very undervalued career field in the military. It's very long hours and often weekends, with no additional pay. I often work 60+ hours a week and get paid the same as someone with the same rank, working in an office for 40 hours a week. And he gets air conditioning and lunch breaks. The additional demands of this job don't come with additional incentives."
