"Worked at Blue Shield of Ca from March 2014 to July 2019. This during this time the company went through a profound transformation to be competitive in the new healthcare marketplace. All areas in the company evolved towards a more commercial orientation."
"Great work-life balance, not much room for growth in IT."
"Very rigidly set on disciplines and not always the first to look forward. Lots of shifting in the org (CEO was ousted a few months ago and then the CTO) makes the company's future very uncertain. However, the people are nice and mostly easy to get along with."
"Blue Shield of California is a non-profit organization. It has a huge IT team to support health care programs. Very helpful people in the organization. I had a good experience. Some processes may take time."
"Extremely behind on the tech side and work environment is very passive aggressive."
"Regence is owned by an umbrella health care company. Unfortunately, the business practices that helped drive success in earlier years have been forgotten as the umbrella company has pushed different initiatives. I have sadly witnessed the slow (but accelerating) decline of Regence in the local market. The people here have been wonderful. However, I feel like the lack of mentorship and lack of connection with developing employees was the final straw that pushed me to move on."
"The people are great here, but I have very little to do. They are utilizing outdated software and technology that prohibits modern development."
"Very good workplace. I got very unique project to enhance my skills. Team is friendly. Always work hand to hand to accomplish goals."
"Overall, I find working at Florida blue is pretty decent."
"I worked as a summer intern in a non-profit that not only thinks about providing standardized insurance but cares about community welfare. The workplace is a perfect balance of work-life integration and an excellent place to grow."
"Nice people. You get bonuses and often get extra perks, such as movie tickets, gift cards and so on. It's close to many nice places to eat."
"I find BCBSM to be a very stable company. The compensation is good but the environment does not work well for me. It is more of a traditional work environment and creativity and collaboration are not really encouraged. Many employees have been there for 18+ years and seem to be going through the motions until retirement."
"This company has strong ethics."
"Great company to work for"
"I worked for Blue Shield for over a year. It's a great place to gain experience in the healthcare industry."
