Blue Cross Blue Shield Employee

"Not the greatest experience, but a good way to get started in the industry."

What do you like about working at Blue Cross Blue Shield?

"With the healthcare debate raging on, they are doing some things that can help out, but so are many other competitors."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be very clear on what the expectations are, and make sure to have the opportunity to interview with those who would be your peers as well. Do your research on other people working there in and out of that department. Be wary."

What don't you like about working at Blue Cross Blue Shield?

"The organization is managed by managers that have moved up through the ranks, which only adds to the slowness of decision making. They are only seasoned by time but not by training. The sales organization is managed by a person similar to a tyrant who has run off many good people simply because they would not fall in line and challenged the status quo."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Look deeper in training the management staff on how to manage people by more motivation versus by fear."
