"It taught me how to sell. Coming out of college, this opportunity was integral in my understanding of what it takes to make business to business sales."

"Be prepared to make phone calls, and lots of them. New sales is a numbers game, and it is tracked more heavily than any other component of your job."
What don't you like about working at Pacific Office Automation?
"I went to school to learn how to market companies, and develop a profit center. Although I was generating profits for Pacific Office, I did not like being a box pusher."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"So much time is devoted to continual sales training, which is great, but working with the reps to develop more understand of how to manage a territory."

"Great spot to work, management is great and the training program very solid."

"It is a company that you need to see as a long term career, it takes a while to move up the ladder."

"It is a big company to navigate and difficult to manage stuff."

"Invest more in marketing and advertising and also give free lunches."

"My peers & co-workers on the sales floor. The ones doing the real work."

"If your going in to HW sales it takes about a year to ramp up. Training is non existent so have some type of knowledge of the industry and IBM server line."
What don't you like about working at Avnet?
"The sales management staff is a joke. Forecasting is a fabrication to appease the executive staff. Excellent, hardworking salespeople have been laid off causing more work while nobody from management was let go."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Don't just spew the Core Values to make yourself sound like a company man, really put them to use. The faux sadness every time we have a layoff is getting tired and EVERYONE in the building sees thru it all."

"There have been a lot of redundancies creating an uneasy and less fun culture than it was 12months ago."

"I would pay people mroe fairly, recruit the right people, hire more young blood."
