What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would definitely restructure the management at my particular store. They are totally self centered and focused on their own gain instead of the work forces happiness as a whole."

"If I had to do it over again, I would not have come back to work here."

What don't you like about working at Walmart?

"I came back to work here in 2006 out of necessity after an illness, and over the past few years the amount of work we are required to do has doubled and in some cases tripled without properly reflecting this in our pay. Most of us are only part-time and not allowed to get more than 31 hours, yet we are expected to cover up to three different departments at any given time, including departments higher than our pay grade. They get out of paying us this pay by scheduling us two days in that area, and since it is not the majority of our scheduled shifts, they are able to avoid paying us the higher pay grade. My schedule has been completely changed due to people in OTHER departments being out on personal days. We have never had to do this before this year. I also had to go to a co-manager due to an assistant rejecting my vacation and lying to my face about why it was rejected , and then I was reprimanded for not requesting it six months in advance, when I had never had to do that in the past.. We are VERY understaffed and due to someone's illness, I had to close the lab early one day when it was time for me to leave, so I called FujI to have us taken offline. The next day, I was reprimanded by an assistant AND a co-manager for dong this, even though a male coworker had done it MANY times in the past when we had technical issues. The co-manager said We're not going to fire you today. I felt very threatened by that statement because I did not think that was a fireable offense, especially since my coworker had done it. I used to love going to work every day, but for the past year I have been under extreme stress due to the extra work and the inability to pay my bills thanks to the low pay and poor hours. God forbid I get sick... my insurance sucks. Unfortunately there are very few other options right now."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"HIRE MORE HELP or bump some people up to full time. It's a multi-billion-dollar company; I know they can afford it. Stop treating your employees like slaves, working them to death. All that's missing is the whips."
