"As long as you take care of your subordinates and not ask them to do something you yourself wouldn't do, they will do wonders for you. That and listen to their suggestions before making a decision that directly influences them."

"Clique-driven and self-serving promotions guide the organization. It's like the mob under Hoffa."

"Eighty percent of my time working for the Army has been spent doing lawn care despite signing up to serve in the two conflicts we've been engaged in."

"Be task driven: focus on what needs to be done, the most efficient way to do it, and those that are most capable of addressing problems."

"Some days are long; have had days where I was at work until 9 at night. Not good for the family; they don't like it when I have to work late."

"I would work to improve the flow of paperwork; at times it seems to take weeks for simple paperwork to go through to higher."

"Go to college; look into the ROTC recruiting program. They can even help with scholarships and so forth."

What don't you like about working at United States Army?

"Forced relocation every 3-4 years. Great for single people or for single income families to see the world. Doesn't work out as well for dual-income career power couples."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Modernize retirement benefits through use of 401k instead of 20+ year pension plan. There is currently no retirement benefit for those serving less than 20 years."
