"I've worked for the Headquarters, US Army Special Operations Command for approximately 4 years and it has been a rewarding experience. This organization is the Army division of the Special Operations Command (USASOC). Since Sept. 11, 2001, few elements of the U.S. military have been more involved in the Global War on Terrorism than the Soldiers of the U.S. Army Special Operations Command. USASOC Soldiers have been amongst the first forces to deploy in support of U.S. and coalition force objectives and humanitarian missions worldwide."

"The army gave me everything I needed to survive. They helped me grow as an individual and become respectful of everyone around me. I learned not only the values of becoming a hard working but also discipline, honor, integrity and the value of perseverance. Going through hardships allows for a type of personal growth that cannot be recreated or experienced anywhere else."

"The US Military is a great experience for anyone that is interested in serving their country. After 6 years of serving I wouldn't change the experience I've gained and the people I have met with anything in the world. The military also prepares citizens for careers outside of the armed forces as well if those interested pursue it. The only drawback can be that family life can take its toll since the career requires many extra hours of work and very little downtime if you would like to progress."

"Since enlisting in 1989, I've learned throughout my years serving. The signal school at Fort Gordon, GA taught me the basics of the information technology world. Getting into a unit to put those skills to use was the real challenge. Learning and working as a team made me the IT tech that I am today. I may not know everything there is to know, but I am very determined and disciplined to make things happen. Working for a two star general/ proved that I can keep his network up and running."

"I have been part of the U.S. Army for 6 years. I feel that if everyone, when they turn 18 years of age, be required to serve 1 year, it might solve some of our problems we have in the U.S."

"Toxic leaders vs quality personnel makes for a poor environment. I am a highly trained, battled tested, lawn-mower. Waste of time, resources, and money. We are too involved in our subordinate's lives to allow them to breathe and grow as adults, be their own persons, and above all, be stress free."
