"A great place to work. You get to do something important and helpful, and do it with people who value loyalty, honor, commitment, integrity, and treating others as they would want to be treated. Thus far, this has been the best place that I've ever worked."

Working at United States Army in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD: 13 Employee Reviews

Student Researcher

"I worked at Army Research Labs as a student researcher for the past 3 summers and found each year more rewarding than the last. I enjoyed that the focus of my employment due to the program was to learn as much as possible, whether that be through hands-on work, internet research, or seminars. It emphasized getting stuff out for yourself rather than providing for the company, which ultimately self-motivated me to work harder and do better."

"I worked with the Army Research Lab for a little over three years after completing my schooling. The scientists I worked with were exceptional and I benefited greatly from our interactions. Unsurprisingly, the greatest issues derived from the nature of being part of a large government bureaucracy, but that didn't outweigh the positives of working there."

"Great place to work, they allow for free creativity in research and provide for you to go out and push your own decisions for research. Money is a little short and can make performing research difficult. Significant amount of bureaucratic red tape makes getting simple materials slow but otherwise great experience great people. Starting to get updated facilities too."

"I have worked at ATC for nearly 10 years, the last 6 as a DA Civilian. It seems that in order to do what you need to do to get things done, it matters more on who you are and who you know than what you know and how hard you work."

"Typical government job which stifles technical progress and leans more towards turning individuals into managers instead of subject matter experts."

"I started with the US Army in 2007 to pursue a life long dream to serve my country. I left the military in 2009, but would do all over again if given the opportunity. I learned a lot while in the service, got to travel all around the country, and met lifelong friends. These friends that I met while in service are some of the best people anyone could ask for. I have grown to become close with them while maintaining a close bond and communication over the years."
