"The Defense Industry isn't for everyone... upward mobility is slow, be careful what you wish for."

"Too much in-breeding, lousy quality, disorganized, too many conflicting cultures, dumb-ass politics, incompetent Program Managers, P/M too powerful, conflict of interests, unethical behavior in mid-management"

"Fire more of managment. Hire from outside the industry. Company needs to take responsibility for their own designs and processes and work towards COTS... spend some time in telecom, an analogous industry to see how real quality and efficiencey works."

"I work offsite at client's place; company tries to keep my skills up to date; encourage skill expansion and provide assistance towards that"

"Show you are technically competent but cannot neglect social skills."

"Need to conform a lot to rules as it gets contracts"

"Should value a good worker; I am capable at the position but they laid me off in favor of another worker who was referred by an employee."

"Allot of travel not much time at home with the family but its a good job never the less"

"What we do actually matters. The products we make can saves people's lives. There is a team feeling that are doing good things for the country."

"Interview with the decision maker in the field in which you are going to work. Often they alone (unfortunately) control the direction a team takes."

"Very slow to embrace new ideas/technologies. Still fighting the last war (i.e., looking for funding opportunities for old style concepts)"

"Redefine innovation - it does not have to be all of new, significant, and save money. Sometimes the best money saving ideas are simple!"

"I loved the test position I had the best of all the position I held at Raytheon. I found it to be more interesting and at times, somewhat of a challenge."

"I say honesty is the best policy to go by."

"Sometimes the presence of working in a union environment could minimize your ability to accomplish certain things."
