"The organization is small and subject to external corporate mandates on reduction in force"

"The organization is very small and the workforce is established and not open to new ideas"

"Implement a rotational program to address stagnation and promote innovation"

"Completely understand the career path by talking with your supervisor frequently."

"Expectations were a bit unrealistic. Some lack of support with poor communication at the corporate level and within the program area."

"Senior management needs to keep everyone better informed, especially in times of down-sizing. Keeping things a secret breeds distrust. Also, there does not appear to be anyone really working hard to gain new business contracts."

"The only tip I would have for someone interviewing with Raytheon-Telemus is to ask lots of questions and engage the staff."

"I feel that there is not much communication between the management and the engineers."

"Managers should do a better job of communicating with the engineers."

"Excellent pay and benefits, reasonable commute, the few intelligent people who weren't scared away or laid off."

"If politics is your passion and you have no conscience that would stop you from walking in at the end of a project and claiming credit for all of it, your opportunities for advancement are limitless! But if you have any integrity at all, run away as fast as you can!"

"An environment where politics and bureaucracy dominate and employees are treated like garbage. Managers were always brought in from the outside, sending the message that there is no career advancement. Those who do advance do so by claiming credit for the work of others. Too much of the work is about satisfying the whims of bosses rather than what's useful or good for the company. A lot of wasted effort."

"Create a culture that encourages innovation and teamwork rather than politics and back-stabbing."

What do you like about working at Raytheon?

"Get to work at many locations, meet new people at the different job sites."

"Just be yourself, be prepared, show up on time and make eye contact."

What don't you like about working at Raytheon?

"That the contract ended too soon, and there is nothing else really."

"Coordinate time and locations better, if possible. some cross training in different job types."

"Overall, this was a good company, I was there over 26 years."

"People overall were nice. Goals were set and were reasonable to achieve."

"Be flexible to change, embrace change, they are down sizing slightly. They definitely love new ideas on ways to improve processes. They don't mind you questioning the porcess but keep it to a minimum. They don't like complete resistance or your opinion on why so much detail is necessary."

"There were some folks that push compliancy as a scare tactic to fix problems which I thought that there was a better way to get things done."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Remove the scare tactic when issues need to be fixed immediately. Don't throw out names of high position individuals as ways to influence people to get things done on time."

"Lack of job stability. Too much middle-management bloat that doesn't add value to the company."

"Show more respect for employees, and not just talk the talk."

"Do not bother to go for the interview. The company is going under."

"You have to find your own jobs when one assignment is completed."

"Need technical training and do not just care for themselves as a country club for themselves."

"Be proactive in doing follow-up calls with the recruiters. That's how I got the job."

"Most of my time was spent going to the different managers offices looking for work or billable hours. To stay off the over head charge # I would often have to do/try to find busy-work."

"The need to Organize their projects better as well as assigning different projects for people instead of having them try to go and find their own."
