"Overall a decent company. The head and body aren't always connected and the management style and choices of managers leaves much to be desired."
"If you want to work in California then Raytheon is NOT the place for you."
"It was great to work at a company that treats there employees as well as they do."
"Raytheon is an extremely well organized company that employs great people and is involved in extremely interesting projects. Anybody that can receive employment with this company is fortunate and can look forward to exciting career opportunities."
"Raytheon has been very good to me. They gave me the opportunity to further my education, and when I did, they rehired me as a software engineer. The people I worked with and for were instrumental in my success. I was not interested in climbing the corporate ladder, but had I been, the opportunities were available."
"Worked for BBN in its various names since 1988. In 2009, Raytheon purchased it. Now it seems to be going downhill as it adopts more Raytheon benefits."
"I've worked for Raytheon for 9 1/2 years. I started off as a tech and worked my way up the as a supervisor there. Being with that company has taught me a lot."
"Good. The company is affected by funding issues, however it is a good company to work for. Many opportunities here but lack of funding is a real issue.I generally do not opine on companies, as they have their challenges and opportunities, and while I have very strong opinions on how they should be run, opining like this is not a good use of my time. I generally approve all companies I work for"
"My experience with this company was horrible. Worst I ever worked for."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you are that hard up for a job and just cannot bear the thought of leaving your beloved Wichita, go for it. But don't count on working there long. Unless you have 20+ years, you can pretty much count on being layed off more than working. If you are willing to move, Lockheed Martin is far better to work for and we are very well treated here."
What don't you like about working at Raytheon?
"I did not like the management or the politics of this company. Management constantly bullied some employees and favored others. They constantly demanded wage and salary concessions from employees after they took over a great company (Beech Aircraft) and ran it into the ground. Employees are treated like dirt and morale there is as bad as it can be. No job security and layoffs with little or no notice are the norm. Add to that the place is in Wichita Kansas which is about the worst place on the planet to live unless you like being indoors all year because the winters are freezing cold and windy and the summers are hotter than the desert southwest with temps over 100 most days. Glad to be out of that place in Georgia at Lockheed Martin now."

What don't you like about working at Raytheon?
"Within the various functions the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing at times. There seems to be a languange barrier which tends to cause meetings to be unsucessful at times. Other functions tend to point fingers when something goes wrong. There is a huge gap of old vs new... people who have worked for 20 plus years are the know it alls and people who have less than 10 years are viewed as new kid on the block. Those eligible for retirement never retire causing mid career employees to stay where they are due to the economy and other factors."
