"I enjoyed helping people find solutions to their specific needs. The other employees were great people, and we worked together to make customers and each other happy."

"Come with a strong knowledge of general pet care and always keep your mood elevated. Even if you may not feel upbeat at first, as the day progresses, the great customers and other employees will make your day worthwhile."

What don't you like about working at PetSmart?

"The company did not allow for company events because their policy was against employees spending time together outside of work. There was very little room to grow and I felt that there wasn't enough challenge to the job."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Consider allowing company functions, and recognize employees who work hard for their efforts."

What do you like about working at PetSmart?

"I like seeing dogs every day. It is simple to sell products. Usually co-workers are good."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It's a good starter job, I guess. It can be fun at times, but prepare for a stressed out work experience. Keep an open mind. Don't get pulled into here for too long. Remember, no retirement packages."

What don't you like about working at PetSmart?

"My dislikes are: horrible pay for the job, horrible employee discount at only 15%, no bonuses for hard work done, hardly any recognition for a job well done, no retirement options, working holidays, nights, and weekends, extreme micromanaging and corporate policies that are unrealistic with the weekly hours provided, and DOES NOT HIRE FROM WITHIN! Medical, dental, and vision is all expensive. It's great insurance though, but very expensive."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"HIRE FROM WITHIN!!!! Treat your employees better. Don't think that getting to see cute dogs and pets every day is incentive enough to stay. A great job would go a long way."

What do you like about working at PetSmart?

"I like the concept and people I work with. The company is fantastic. The employees and managers always are responsible and communicative."

"Be responsible and care for your position with communication and integrity. Always do more than what is expected of you."

What don't you like about working at PetSmart?

"I want a more professional, respectable career at this time. I appreciate everything the company has done for me so far, but the advancement is very limited and I want to further my career forward."

"Keep up the good work. The management team has great teamwork and cares about their positions."

"I enjoy working with the pets most of all. I also enjoy the creativity afforded to me when I complete the report cards for the day camp dogs."

"I can't imagine anyone not being able to get this job."

"I dislike the incredibly low pay."

"Lead by example. Follow the rules of how to handle aggressive dogs so everyone else does, and no one gets bitten again."

"I like working with pets and their parents who love them."

"Policy and procedures are in place for a reason, and it's not to tell you what to do but to guide you in your safety, the animals' safety, and keeping customers in mind."

"Not all of the funds raised for the animals go directly to the cause or the animals."

"Stress the goals of quarterly fundraisers to help increase funds brought in."
