"if you are younger, go work at the Olive Garden. You can make more in the food service industry and probably score free food. if you are older and experienced, be prepared to be underwhelmed."
What don't you like about working at JPMorgan?
"There is no real drive towards good service. Computer systems are unreliable and dated. The systems that do get updated are made incredibly complicated/labor intensive instead of becoming easier to use. There are no real attempts to make employees part of the company and interested in its successes, other than the occasional propaganda poster. The only interest is in making the already wealthy execs even wealthier. They even killed off the annual Christmas party to save money in these difficult times, while they pay out tens and tens of millions to the execs/board. Even the meager ice cream social turned into a few people walking around the floor with an ice chest handing out popsicles. The people at the core of the company's success struggle during these bad economic times (low wages/no raises/hardly noticeable raises) while working for one of the wealthiest/most profitable companies in the world (over 5 billion PROFIT)."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Remember that the people who work for you are human beings and not robots. Give a little something back to those who ensure the growth of the company. Reward your people when the company succeeds. People who are invested in a company's success will work harder to achieve that and grow to love it. Posters about teamwork don't make someone proud to work somewhere. Feeling appreciated and like you are truly part of something bigger do. Winning hearts and minds leads to dedication."
