"I worked in IBM Since Dec 2005. I started with a telecommunication project as developer and grow up as team lead."
"Not the same IBM, they fire 10% of the US workforce every year while hiring overseas to perform the same jobs. I would not recommend anyone to work there, it's just a matter of time before they fire you for no reason. Besides betraying our country, it's a very unimaginative place to work. Management does not allow employees to be creative and think outside the box. No new ideas have ever come out of IBM since the 60's. Work for Apple or Google; they invent things!"
"I only worked at IBM for a summer, but the experience was overall very negative as I'd been brought in to work on a project that didn't use skills I claimed to have on my resume. Needless to say I couldn't always make meaningful contributions in my work, and was unnecessarily stressed as a result."
"I worked for IBM for 12 years and worked in many areas in the company. IBM's strength was its technology and its people until executive management focused more on shareholder returns at the expense of its people. IBM may be finding that it has cut and chased away too many good people to successfully reinvent itself and get rid of low margin businesses in favor of the right businesses. I will be watching to see if it can rise again from chaos."
"I worked for IBM for several years. I learned many skills that I found valuable in my professional life. Unfortunately, IBM is no longer considered one of the best places to work for, because the employees are regarded as a cost rate versus being an asset to the company. Morale has declined because measurements are becoming harder to obtain, and less is being offered for motivation. I dream that IBM will reconsider their values and make the correct choices for a better future for all."
"IBM is a great company, however, they are cruel in lay offs. I had one of the best experiences working as an IBMer."
"Not so good company to work with. Not employee friendly."
"I have been working with IBM for years and I absolutely love working for them."
"Great company, best place to learn cutting edge processes of a highly integrated global enterprise. Large and hard to make a mark, but great place to grow professionally."
"I had a great time. I worked around the world and worked on great projects. I never had a bad review and I think my layoff was simply a matter of cost. The CEO who was in charge of layoffs said they wanted people who were continous learners and service oriented. Considering I was taking classes at coursera.org and at NCSU plus prior experience I was totally surprised when I was laid off."
