"It's probably not a place for someone who needs their hand held through everything -- hopefully you're someone who thrives when working independently, and who's able to take initiative and learn quickly."

"Things can be a bit disorganized sometimes, especially working with so many remote team members. I'd like a bit more freedom myself to work remotely, having said that!"

"I have no complaints and love everything about the company. I'm not to fond of cubicles though."

"more meetings should be scheduled with other staff to stay up to date on what others are doing"

"CEO does not always express priority on tasks given which can sometimes cause problems within the company."

"Management should given more guidance on what tasks are priority if there is in fact a need for one item over another."
What do you like about working at University Hospitals?
"I work in IT... in healthcare... to say that we're poorly treated is an understatement. Management does not seem to understand that IT infrastructure is going to form the foundation of their operations going forward once they have to show evidence (read: real reports on real data) of Meaningful Use, and Accountable Care.IT is an afterthought, and management within IT is stagnant. Because of years of neglect we spend more time putting out fires than solving real problems. There exists an utter lack of respect and even downright contempt for IT staff by other departments."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"DON'T! Unless you're looking to put your career out to pasture for the last few years before retirement, you'd be better served finding nearly anywhere else to work. Career advancement is NON-EXISTENT!"
What don't you like about working at University Hospitals?
"You may have been being positive, but unless you're a clinician at UH, the picture is anything but rosy. Expect unreasonable demands of your time, low pay, and disrespect for your talent and expertise."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"It's utterly apparent that the organization is unconcerned with attracting and retaining top talent, that is unless you're talking about physicians/nurses. I understand that being a healthcare organization the focus needs to be on the patient, but it's taken so far as to leave non-clinical staff feeling like third-class citizens."

"They're in a period of growth and things can be tight sometimes, but there was really nothing I didn't like."

"New management took over the computer department as a cost cutting measure. I was the last hired."

"I do not have any management improvement that can be made. I'm sure all is well"

"The work I was doing. I was free to develop the code necessary to get the job done. Owner has no programming skills, etc.."

"This company will not be hiring anyone. Owner is tring to do everythine himself to save money."

"Company had no idea of what it was doing. Company failed with the first two attempts to develop software for the idea that he had. I succeeded in doing the job."

"Company worked on a shoe string. He did not know the scope of the project he was undertaking and did not do his home work."

"Explain which areas in which you need to catch up relative to other applicants because they value honesty; know-it-all applicants are perceived as over-representing their skill set"

"No advancement opportunities, poor pay for the industry, automatic layoff upon graduation"

"Make it so that student employees can transition into full-time employment upon graduation"

"Unpaid internship. Since it's internship, the employer will not give the crucial jobs for you to do. So, you barely learn new technologies."
