"The pay is pretty bad and management is abysmal. At the director position there is only one good manager in IT."

"At this point I think it would be hard to trust anything short of cleaning house."

"People are nice. Almost too nice. A good place to hang out and chill."

"Everybody is generally approachable. There is very little ego among management. For a tech company, people are totally r-e-l-a-x-e-d. Compared to a start-up, everybody seems slightly stoned."

"If you are a developer: make sure you your manager understands the technology they are managing. Be wary of a manager with a recent MBA who has never touched a lick of real tech trench."
What don't you like about working at Citrix Systems?
"Management discipline is non-existent--no deadlines, no accountability, no project methodology. The place is a ticking time bomb, because virtually none of its products are defensible in-and-of themselves. Product quality and customer retention suffers in this environment."

"Be more dynamic. Set goals. Stand up and lead. Curb the politics and the deflection and the protective den-mother a bit. Or your people go soft and wander aimlessly."

"Communication between employees and the owner of the business sometimes became difficult of laggy because he was not located in the same area."

"I would have liked to have a little more structured and streamlined training process when I started. Other than that everything was great."

"Management should seek to provide vision for employees more often."

"The flexibility within my department to improve processes and automate many of the mundane and/or repetitive tasks."

"Make sure you understand the expectations of the company. Management is well aware that we are understaffed and underpaid. The emphasis is not on the here and now, but on what the company can be. For this reason, many cut-backs and shortcuts have been taken. Go in with this understanding in mind."
What don't you like about working at OpenBook Learning?
"lack of processes in place. Sometimes rather chaotic. Terrible communication between some depts."

"Immediate supervisor is great. CEO is sometimes unprofessional. He needs to hold people accountable/expect them to succeed only after they have been given the tools to do so. For this reason, he has unrealistic expectations. Recognize persons contributions more rather than being relentlessly critical"

"nice colleagues, cool location near the Island, but too far away from city and too much to walk"

"Be confident, as they are no-nuisance company, they care about your knowledge rather than appearance."

"Since I use public transport, the transport are very limited and sometimes if I miss the bus, then there is no other way then Hitchhiking, even NO TAXI"
