"The fringe benefits were above industry standards: foosball tables, pool tables, free drinks, coffee and tea, a subsidized snack machine, working from home one day a week, and casual dress."

"Ask questions about the business model of the business group: its funding sources, the consumer of the products / services rendered by the group, and the business group's relationship to other groups in the bank. Ask about the rest of the employees in the business group and their level of education, types of services, etc. Two key questions for Wells Fargo interviewers:The tenure level of your coworkers is important, i.e., how long have people in your group been with the bank How is their job satisfaction level My experience has been that the job satisfaction ratings / morale were consistently low even while the tenure level was frequently very high (many people wearing the Golden Handcuffs at work)."
What don't you like about working at Wells Fargo?
"It is the single largest private employer in the world. It is massive, but it is like working in a small company in a hidden shadow economy, doing business with other companies within the larger parent company. Where you work in Wells Fargo is very important because all of the funding focuses on whether you work for a cost center or a profit center of the business. Funding is much harder to come by in cost centers. It can be incredibly difficult to get anything done in such a large company because of 1) All of the security / legal / financial regulations that constrain every decision that is made in the financial industry, and 2) It can be very difficult to get other groups within the bank to work with you when you need their resources to complete a project, because each group within the organization acts like a separate / competing private enterprise with it's own agenda, financial priorities, and sometimes competing interests. Some divisions and groups within the bank are much better organized, better educated, more savvy, and more professional. Some are abysmally bad. Choose your group wisely."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Take an active interest in and participate in the day-to-day work of my employees. Give feedback, advice and direction without micromanaging. Take an active role in solving the big problems facing employees in their work, workplace, etc."

"very exciting work. all done in C and scripted in Perl"

"I liked the fact that I gained a great amount of experience with SQL and XML in which school had only taught basics. I thought it was a rewarding experience myself."

"With my experience working there, SQL, logic, and XML, plus ASP classic libraries are all that is needed."

"Requirements, to me, changed day by day. Therefore, getting off-track may becoming frustrating."

"For upper management, I would regulate all other processes that other departments need so that everybody can be fully-focused on their work."

"Listen to advice when own experience is missing. I mean, I wouldn't know what I am talking about right, so why wouldn't I deffer to a knowledgeable professional."

"The recession has caused a great loss of business but management has kept the company in business."

"Interesting projects, fairly defined growth opps, unbelievably nice and supportive coworkers, mgmt team that actually seems to care about what we say (most of the time), billability bonus."

"Be ready for several interviews and don't say you know something if you don't."

"Somewhat tedious commute for me to Winchester (but a new office is supposedly opening up soon closer to where I live), annual raises are never so big. Training process is supposedly tons better now but it wasn't impressive when I started three years ago."

"Open office in Reston or Vienna sooner rather than later. Keep up the communications about business performance. It's appreciated and some people really care about those details."

"Actually they were perfect and so nice and they give us the feeling to be more comfortable when they interviewed us."

"I think it needs to be more organized between departments especially with the marketing departments."

"be respectful with the staff and friendly at the same time and listen to the suggestions from the team."
